We love using this for camping, it gives plenty of light and it is easy to use. I love that it comes with the carrying case as it makes it easy to transport without breaking it

I love my lantern. I do alot of camping and fishing so I use it often. The lantern puts out some light ( nice and bright ). The case comes in handy it help protect it and easy for travel and carrying.

Love this lantern for camping. It's very easy to use, doesn't take up much trunk space, and is very bright and reliable. Stores nicely in the hard sided case, and holds up to being lugged around.

Good lantern and solid case...lights up my whole campsite..16 oz tank burns for 5 hours or so on high

All fuel and propane appliances should be used outdoors in well-ventilated areas clear of combustible materials due to the danger of fire and the emission of carbon monoxide (CO) from burning fuel and the effects of carbon monoxide exposure.

Q: Is this the newest version of the Northstar? Also, does this version make the loud whistle sound when its on low? The newest version has a push button start (red button beside the knob) rather than the turning (click) ignition. Also, there are multiple issues about a loud high pitch sound when the lamp is on low. Has Coleman corrected this issue?

A: Hello! Thank you for your question. Please be advised that the newest version has a push-button start (the red button beside the knob) rather than the turning (click) ignition. The sound is mostly likely related to the gas pressure flowing through tubes in the lantern. There will be a slight whistling sound related to the pressurized gas flowing through the tubes, but not a loud pitch.
