Timeless Style

Purchased for a guest bedroom and it is perfect. Managed to assemble it myself and was pleased to see a separate packet for 'spare parts'. Brilliant as there was one screw missing. I read previous reviews and one mentioned buying different pulls for the drawers, which I did in a vintage style with old brass finish. This really took the desk to another level for about an extra $12. (I did need the Man of the House to drill new holes so I didn't mess this up).

I use this desk as an entry table since it allows plenty of room underneath to store a stool and some shoes. I've received lots of compliments on this piece. I replaced the stock drawer handles with some vintage brass handles to give it a mid-century modern look and some people mistook it for being vintage. I highly recommend changing out the drawer handles with something a bit nicer and to add personality.

This desk is beautiful. Very functionable. Can be used for many things. Behind the sofa picture table, a small dining table or a desk. Can be used in an enteranceway. Very sturdy, and sylish. Beautiful solid wood. Only took 20 minutes to put together. This will not go out of style. Very pleased with this purchase.

Q: is the back side of the desk finished? In the picture the back of the desk is against a wall, is the back side of the desk (table top/drawer part) finished so that the desk can sit out in a room rather than against a wall?

Q: what is meant by "solid wood pine with veneer hardware"? I understand that the legs and outer frame would be of pure pine wood with a veneered particle board top. Is that right?

A: Yes that is correct, the legs are made with solid pine. The drawer body including the top is made with PB and birch veneer.
