Peeling the cover

Removing the non-stick cover can be a problem. I found that scratching a corner with a knife can fray the edge and allow you to use your fingernails to grab the edge.

Too frustrating

I will say that this product adds hours of time to the simplest of projects. Removing the blue backing is practically impossible. I will never buy Duck brand again. I have a project that would have been done long ago with any other tape. It still sits undone until I can go to a store and buy another brand. So frustrating.
No, I do not recommend this product.

The backing is way too hard to remove. I end up tearing off the corner of the tape more often than not. Maybe if you cut it with scissors fresh off the whetstone it might be ok. I ended up scoring a mark in the middle of the piece with a razor blade to slightly improve my chances.

I have been using this particular dbl sided tape for years in my workshop. My CNC requires a no slip way of holding flat projects for machining. I've tried others but this tape always works.

Q: What can be used on stairs for Low Vision Person? I'm currently using this tape on the end of each stair. This helps her see where the carpeting ends so she can step down. However it leaves adhesive glue residue after a few months. Are there any alternatives?

A: Hi, While there will always be risk of adhesive residue on the surface when removed, the best solution would be painter's masking tape with UV resistance and multiple days of clean removal. Cantech team

A: The adhesive on this tape will withstand cold and damp weather and is most often a good choice for carpets inside even if they get wet. It is important that the surface is non-porous and clean. The more the substandard condition (wetness + surface) the less the tape will withstand and may only be a temporary fix.

Q: Will this tape leave residue on the flooring when you try to remove, or damage the flooring in any way?

A: Yes, this carpet tape will leave a residue on the flooring due to the aggressiveness of the adhesive. We do not recommend using this on unsealed floor surfaces such as unsealed tile or barnwood. It is fine to use on sealed flooring where Goo-Gone or WD-40 (petroleum based products) can dissolve the bond and remove the residue without damaging the flooring.
