Super achat

En effet elle démarre au quart de tour....très satisfait. Ça fait 2 ans quelle passe l'hiver dans un container et au printemps....elle démarre comme une neuve. Un peu lourde mais super ...je la recommande
I bought one of these machines for use in our Search and Rescue group. Our first trip out, it spewed fuel all over the trailer, ruined seals, destroyed flooring and walls. Did several thousand dollars worth of damage, not including time spent to clean up and troubleshoot, trips to the repairman, time without a generator, etc. Spent several months trying to get this sorted out with Briggs and Stratton. They abandoned us completely in the end. Said it was our fault for putting in dirty fuel. uh, no. That's the same fuel hundreds to thousands of people use per day. I've used that same fuel vendor for years, with no problems. The authorized repairman left me with the impression that this is exactly how B&S would react. Because they have off-shored everything, the products have completely tanked and they are making huge money by living off the name of a once great company.
Turns out that due to poor manufacturing and design, there is a tube that goes between the air box and the top of the fuel tank. If the unit is jiggled too much during transport, it will spew fuel out the breather hose. I proved this by filling the fuel, removing the air filter cover so I could see the breather hose opening, and shaking the generator back and forth to simulate braking, turning, accelerating in the back of a trailer. The unit immediately began spraying fuel, with quite a bit of force, out of the breather hose.
There is no way to stop it either save for B&S' recommendation of "drain the fuel out of the generator before moving it", or to "put a bolt in the vent line when transporting the generator". Neither of those pieces of poorly considered advice are in the manual, and both go against safety as well as all sense and reason for having a portable generator in the first place.
Because B&S abandoned us, I was forced to buy this dangerous pile of garbage personally so that our group could purchase a Honda generator instead. Six times the price for the Honda, but worth every penny considering what B&S put us through.
1) DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT: IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD - YOU WERE WARNED
2) DO NOT BUY FROM B&S: THEY MAKE A GARBAGE PRODUCT AND WILL ABANDON YOU IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG - YOU WERE WARNED
I want to see a full and complete boycott of this company for what they've done. They should sink like the Titanic.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Have owned mine for 5 years!!!

We have numerous power outages out here at the Lake and this bad boy keeps us alive!!! I keep the battery charger plugged in at all times because once in freezing weather after sitting idle for about 5 months it didn't have the cranking amps... so now no surprises. I run my entire house (2 fridges, freezer, HW tank, Water/well pump, TVs, internet, etc etc) I use LED lighting in my entire house so am sure that helps. Never has failed me... mostly used for a few hours at a time. I have it plugged into my Generlink transfer switch (behind the meter) so no inside switches/breakers to worry about). Just start... wait a bit... then throw the switch on it. It's always connected to my Generlink. It's not as quiet as a Honda but it's outside anyway. 5* for this family.
Yes, I recommend this product.

J’ai acheté se produit le mois dernier et j’en suis fier
Very happy that I found this on sale. Needed a generator as we just bought our first house out in the sticks where the power tends to go out all the time. Generator works great and is a great buy!
A: La réponse est NON ! J'ai effectivement acheté un génératrice et elle a été livrée dans sa boîte, donc non assemblée. (Heureusement, ce n'est pas très compliqué mais quand même un peu difficile à cause du poids).

Q: Can this generator be run on premium gas without ethanol in it?

2 Answers
A: Yes, I'd recommend running Premium as it doesn't have Ethanol in it. Ethanol isn't good for small engines. Ensure you treat the fuel too with stabilizer.

Q: 240V plug type
Is this a 240v 4-prong twist lock plug?
Or, is it a 120/240v 3-prong twist lock plug?
An image of the plugs would have been useful.

A: Why after 4 1/2 months, the features and specs pages have different information for the ports outputs? One says 4 120v and 1 locking 120v 20A, and the other says 4 120v, and 1 locking 120/240v 30A? You should fix the info for this item on the webpage. :)

Q: what kind of oil comes with it? is it synthetic oil??
2 Answers
A: Don't recall what it came with but I run 5w30 Mobil1 full synthetic in it. The break-in period is 5 to 8 hours, I changed out the oil after 8-hours and replaced it with the Mobil1 full synthetic. I now change the oil every 50 hours or 6-months, whichever comes first.

Q: Does this unit ever go on sale?
Seems like other units of this quality often go on sale but wonder if this one ever has or how often
11 years ago
2 Answers
A: Yes it does. It seems to go on sale for 20% off at least a couple times a year. The easiest way to watch for it is to set up an online sale alert through your CTC online account. You will get notification one day before the sale starts.
