Bosch Freak 18V 2-in-1 Cordless Bit/Socket Impact Driver Kit

Bought this set on sale for a great deal. I bought it to save time and convenience taking off lug nuts on my car that are Torque at 100 foot pounds. I thought this would be a great idea instead of pulling out my air compressor.So I checked the rating before I bought and the rating was at much higher specifications so I thought I was good. This thing is weak. I could almost tighten Bolts tighter with a mini socket wrench. I have other Bosch, power tools, and a dishwasher and I love them. So this really hurt.

I had previously bought a kit with the 25618 impact driver and drill combo, so i was invested in bosch ecosystem. I needed something that could take 1/4 sockets for wheel lug nuts, mower blade bolts, etc. In short, this doesn't make any real torque. This driver has choked on every single task i've asked from it. Anything this GDX18V-1600 can do, the 25618 could also do. I think the 25618, which is rated less at 1500 in-lbs actually out torques this one rated at 1600 in-lbs in practice. See the Torque Test Channel video on the different gen bosch "freak" impact drivers/wrench combos. This model barely makes any torque on their test fixture, and it reflects my actual usage that this tool is worthless for any job using a socket. As a driver, it will work fine driving fasteners, but the 25618 is a better performer with more rapid hits per second. My recommendation is to skip the GDX18V-1600 and get a true mid or high torque impact wrench if you need to use this on anything requiring a socket. If you just want a 1/4 impact driver, bosch makes better. Recently acquired the GDX18V 740N which is an actual 1/2 impact wrench that brings the beans, and even on the lowest setting it will crush some of those jobs that the GDX18-1600 choked on. I do use the bag, battery, and charger with my other 18V bosch tools, so that was definitely a bonus!

VERY WEAK! This thing won’t loosen lightly tightened bolts! I might as well have burned y money! Extremely disappointed in this purchase!

I have had mine for just over two years i use it commercially for framing using 3 inch to 4 inch screws it’s very strong the battery last a long time I use it for driving up to 6 inch lag bolts in Pine and Hardwood i’m very satisfied with this tool

I like how you can add quickly seitch hex bits to sockets. This comes in handy for little jobs around the house and vehicles. However, it honestly should be recalled. It is blatant false advertising that this will drive anywhere near 1,600 in.lb I of course tried it on the lug nuts of my small toyota that are torque down to 80 ft.lb of torque, which is well under the 1,600 in/lbs this tool is supposed to do. 1,600 in/lb is converted to 133.33 ft/lbs. These will turn them to hand tight, that's all. Very weak. Could be handy for some applications, but don't waste your money on this.
