      Mud And Snow Rated

The M+S symbol differentiates an All-Season tire from a Summer only tire. While rated for light snow, they will not match a winter tire for traction or stopping distance on snow and ice.

      Accepts Studs

This tire can have studs installed to provide additional mechanical traction on icy surfaces. Studded tires are prohibited by law in many provinces. Ask at your local Canadian Tire store.

      Two years of dissapointment

In January 2022, we purchased a set of Motomaster Total terrain 275/60R20 tires for our Nissan Armada. The tires were reasonably priced, and we had faith in the CT brand. However, last fall, one of the tires began losing 10 PSI biweekly. When we took it to CT, they informed us that the tires were six years old (based on the manufacturing date, not the purchase date) and thus, were not covered by the warranty. Despite not having the receipt, CT repaired the tire. Yet, four months later, all the tires are now losing 10-15 PSI every other week, even though they all have more than 75% tread left. This has been a complete disappointment. To Motomaster: For a prospective buyer, the most decisive factor when purchasing new tires is reliability. Your warranty should serve as a peace-of-mind guarantee. If I have to invoke my warranty, it means that my peace of mind has already been compromised. If you tell me the warranty doesn’t cover tires even though it’s a manufacturing defect, then you’ve lost my trust as a customer as well. Not a good way of doing business.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      not great

these tires were ok when they were new. now that they are half wore they are like driving with bald tires. packed down snow is really bad. I can't even get the truck to stop unless I put it in neutral. bald tires with the belts sticking out would work better than these in snow when they get to half tread life. THERE SCARY BEWARE...........

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Decent value when on sale.

Decent value when on sale. I had one tire develop a bulge on the face of the tread, so it needed to be replaced, but because this tire has been discontinued I was able to get it for less than 1/2 price.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: My 2020 Toyota Highlander has 235/65R18 all-season tires. The Canadian Tire website suggests 245/65R18 105S size of these winter tires. Will that size work okay?

A: If they suggest it would be fine. It might have a little difficulty of turning wheels to much as I experienced when I using a wider tire on my truck

Q: Recommended tire pressure for winter. I just had these in stalled by Canadian Tire and I checked the pressure and it was 25 psi. With a max rating of 44 wouldn't 32 be better?

      2 Answers

A: Check the sticker on your driver's door. It should have data on your particular vehicle including recommended tire pressure. Don't run the tires at the maximum pressure written on the sidewall, you will wear the centre of the tread out quickly if you travel on pavement. Remember to check the tire pressure again when the temperature drops as air volume will contract so you may need to add more air. Air pressure may vary quite a bit between +20 and -30 C so run the "cold tire pressure" most suited to the average temperature of the season where you live or travel. .

Q: Should the Motormaster Total Terrain winter tires be cross rotated annually? Some winter tires have rotation indicators , this tire does not.

      2 Answers

A: No, you should just rotate them front to back. They develop a wear pattern that you don't want to mess up by switching them to the other side of the car.

Q: Is the ice performance of this tire similar to the new Nordic winter tire? Is the tread rubber compound the same as the Nordic winter tire?

      2 Answers

A: I would have to say the Nordic is a bit softer tire with more sipes. The Nordic is better on ice than the Total Terrains.

Q: whether Motomaster Total Terrain W/T for Light Trucks/SUVs could be used in summer?

      2 Answers

A: You can use winter tires in summer. I don't recommend only because they can decrease your vehicles handling ability. Canada doesn't get as warm as the southern US for instance, so using tires in +20C weather is OK. Be sure to maintain speed at the limit or below 110km/h. If extremely high load, high temp conditions the tires can become a liability, mainly due to the softer rubber wanting to come apart. If you don't drive more than 25,000kms a year I'd advise getting a good, all terrain tire instead of a summer and a winter set. It'll take you ten years to run through both tire sets, if not longer. After eight years you'll notice a high amount of cracking around the tire beads (any tire!), and although they might still look to be in great shape, you have to remember that treads can come off (think Firestone fiasco of the 90's). It's rare, but if you have your family in your vehicle with 10 year old tires that have been stored for half a year then put back on the vehicle, it just creates stress that you don't need. If you drive a lot of miles, I'd recommend getting two sets.
