    Works but has design flaws

One problem right out of the box is the starter pawls get stuck. So the when pulling the rope it doesn't turn the engine. My work around is to use a small screwdriver to pop them over but its only a temporary solution. Second the air box fell apart with less than 5 hours of use. The major diameter of the screw is too small and it only engages on the first 5-6 threads. I plan to order a new one discard the stock screw and use a longer quality screw and washer. It is light and easy to use but Troy-Bilt is going to destroy their name with inferior products if they continue. I have a Troy-Bilt Econo horse rear tine tiller and its bullet proof.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I do not recommend this product. It is no good. Does not start at all. We are stuck with it since we bought it last year and did not use it. Now we were going to use it, but it doesn't start. Brand new, got out of the box and won't start.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this tool to weed. At first I had issues starting it.Then I figured out to pump the bubble a couple pumps and half choke it. It will flood out easy. if you do flood it, you won't be happy. Once I found out how easy it would start, and how powerful it is, I love it. I use is to make raised beds now and weed in-between rows. To make raised beds. just drag it slowly backwards. it removes all the dirt and puts it on the sides. Then you can use it to weed the same trench. So Easy. I have a horse tiller I use to plow my whole garden with. From now on all my rows will be played out with my TB for fast easy raised beds and weeding.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I take care of my cultivator making sure using non-ethanol gas, and store it in a sheltered environment. Annual Uses: I used it to blend in some 100% humus into a sandy loam topsoil in a 15 ft diameter circle; split open the top few inches of dirt in a 60ft x 30 ft wildflower bed; and skim over lawn to break the surface to over seed winter ryegrass on a 15k sf lawn. Year 1: Love the Jump start; got the adapter for my drill and it has always worked great. Too old to pull and pull. Year 1 - started within a second or two. Power: mine would get bogged down and tine-axle deep in loam/humus soil. Something like 'Black Kow'. I've always had to baby it to get it to churn up any depth without it choking off. The 2 cycle cultivators I had would cut through hard clay; they'd bounce up out of the ground if they hit a rock or something at my previous home (no rocks here). They'd go through anything. This doesn't have that kind of power. Had some oil spilling out of air cleaner/filter/breather. That seemed to make it run rough. Had to slightly reduce amount of oil. The air filter cover turn wheel stripped off of it's screw the first year. I had to "Dremel" a groove in the screw post and use a flat head screwdriver to secure / remove cover. Year 2: Had learned to slightly reduce oil, so it ran pretty good in spring. By fall, it would cut off in use. Replaced carburetor. It ran, but very hard to start. With jump start drill, probably 10 seconds of cranking before it caught and ran; and then ran roughly. Year 3 - won't start at all. Used spark tester - all good, nice visible spark; checked for fuel flow; sprayed carb cleaner into air intake: never would fire. It's a decent cultivator in the beginning. Not the most powerful, but love the 'jump start'. Like the width. Life span of 3 years.

No, I do not recommend this product.
