    A Clearance paint turned out better than expected!

    I bought a gallon on Clearance, and had to have it shaken twice. It still had a large crust of white in the bottom of the can after both tries. The reason you got a 4 was because, even though it was supposed to be gray, it became a smoky blue, which I love! The paint is great itself and am not disappointed and understand why it was on Clearance. Win/win for me and Canadian Tire!

    Q: We are using the oil-based primer on a new mild steel roof structure. It will be exposed to the elements. Do I need to top-coat the primer, or can I leave it as it is?

    • A: Hi Gary, All of our primers, including our Tremclad Grey Primer, should be top coated. The primer will not hold up on it's own especially when exposed to the outdoor elements.

    Q: I have already sanded off most rust on a metal lintel/lintol, but with some rust left here and there that is very hard to get rid of. Can I use this product on it, or what is the best product to use in my case?

    • A: Yes, Tremclad primers can be applied to rusted surfaces, provided any loose or flaking rust has been removed.
