Lid does not open

Worked well for about 2 moths and then the lid would not fully open, in fact it opens about as much as shown here in the pic. Tried new batteries but no difference.
Occasionally it surprises us and opens all the way.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Most likely yes, here is more information: •The Slightest tap of the toe trigger opens the lid which closes seconds later. •Holding the toe trigger for three seconds keeps the lid open.
