I've only owned these for two weeks so far

They are a good deal at this point of ownership. I hope the 5 batteries last at least long enough to be the justified cost of replacement! I hope so, as these were very easy to install.
I'm not a criminal so I can not judge weather or not the deafening sound produced by this unit when breached will cause a fear enough to cause a retreat of the break-in . This product will give peace of mind to people as long as they don't forget to turn off the unit before they open the door in the morning.

Bad design

These alarms likely work well but there is no exterior on/off switch, so when you want to disarm it to open a window or door you have to open the tiny battery cover. I am returning them to the store.

My mother is a dementia patient and decided to wander today. I can usually hear her and get there before she takes off.
Bought these today (there are two in the package with batteries.) Two minute no tool installation. Tested and works very well. Loud but not louder than my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Perfect quick fix to a not good situation.

Simple but very effective. Alarm is very loud. Works great as additional security measure. Just remember to turn off before you open door/window, or neighbors will not be impressed.

A: These alarms can be used in a filing cabinet as long as the two pieces can connect flush to each other (would depend on how the cabinet works).However, these alarms don’t signal remotely if the item is closed – they will merely sound an alarm that will scare off an intruder or notify others in the general area.

A: Est-ce que l'alarme se déclenche aussi longtemps que la porte est ouverte? Le commutateur / désarmement d'armement se trouve sous le compartiment de la batterie, juste au-dessus le logement de batterie. Il y a seulement deux paramètres, ON et OFF. Alors ON, l'alarme retentit chaque fois que les deux parties de l'alarme sont séparés. Alors que OFF, l'alarme ne retentit pas en toutes circonstances. Est-ce que l'alarme se déclenche aussi longtemps que les aimants ne sont plus en contact sont? Ou est-il un "bip" que lorsque la porte ouvre puis rien? Sur le mode ON, lorsque le déclencheur est déplacé plus loin à environ 1/2 "(10-15mm) loin de la porte capteur, l'alarme est déclenchée. Lorsque l'alarme est déclenchée, la sirène continue de retentir pendant environ 60 secondes.

A: CTC Item 46-0159 is the Swann SW351-MD2 Window & Door Magnetic Alarm. It comes complete with batteries for first time use. To replace the button watch style batteries use the universal battery code LR44 available in most major brands such as Duracell, Energizer, Maxell and others. Please visit your local retailer who sells watch batteries.
