Not your everyday turntable!

Ok, so lets be real! Victrola dropped the ball here as well as Canadian Tire. To begin with the stylus that comes with the player is steel. Upgrading immediately to a diamond stylus is recommended. Now that you have the good styli, you need to adjust the down pressure or force of the needle on the records. Victrola has set this way too high. I haven't tested the actual weight with my scale, but suspect it is several ounzes over as the tone arm feels very heavy when lifted by hand. If you leave this be, paired with the destructive steel needle, this player should have your high and low priced vinyl shredded and useless in no time. Upgrade your stylus and make your downforce adjustable, Victrola! Very sorry Canadian Tire, but this product is garbage. I should have saved my money, regardless of sale price under $50. Thank god my 1st and only record played on this was old and not worth too much. Makes a great book end though and wired MP3 player.
