I needed a ratchet to complete my set, I purchased the !/4 " drive ratchet that came with a plastic backing plate that I hung on my peg board for easy access.

I've had a whole set of the Stanley ratchets, including this one, for about 8 or 9 years now. They've stood up to daily work as a mechanic's apprentice for 2 years, and since then I've used them more times than I can count and I've used them as breaker bars multiple times and they still work like they did from day one. And they're much cheaper than something like Matco or Snap-on, which I've had many issues with. The only problem I have is with the laser "engraving" which fades as the black paint wears away over time. Because of that issue, I even had a problem getting one of my sockets replaced under the lifetime warranty because you couldn't make out "Stanley" OR the "10" on the side. The engraving needs to be into the steel, not just the paint.

Worst ratchet ever, don't buy it!

I used this ratchet twice, only TWICE and it got jammed. Very nice appearance and case but Stanley disappointed me with the quality of this product.
