Great tool to test AC current safely, could be better.

Its a good tool for safely measuring AC loads and current with a loop tester, and the tester also has two points for voltage measurement. 1x and 10x coils allow you to get reasonable accurate readings. What it lacks however is a ground, the device will plug into any outlet and isn't polarized, the testing side is however and will accept three prong devices but will not ground the device.

Great price and extremely useful

Bought this about February of 2017 and have had very good results. Using this to determine current draw of block heaters, aeration fans and just about anything that uses 120 VAC to power it up. An inexpensive clamp meter inductively displays current when clamped through either the 1x ring or the 10x ring (Note: the 1x is for larger current draw- using the 10X ring for smaller current draw to get a more accurate reading on the meter).. It also has AC line probe points so line voltage can be monitored under load - another simple but useful feature. If you need to know whats going on when you plug into a 120 VAC outlet- an inexpensive clamp meter (with seperate leads for voltage measurement) and this Sperry line tester will get the job done.Recommend it highly as it is simple to use, reliable ( no moving parts) and a great price..

Sperry line splitter for clamp meter

This splitter is used to simplify measurements made with a clamp on amp meter. Such measurements are commonly made by those qualified to work with electricity. As with anything plugged into a wall socket, hazards do exist. The splitter might be a fine gift for an electrician apprentice. The splitter does not have any safety organization approval marking,

Yes, I recommend this product.
