This receiver and remote adds wireless learning to an old garage door opener. If you're not able to program new remotes or keypad to your garage opener, this is the solution for you. You can buy additional remotes and keypads from skylink and you can program several devices with the receiver.

GB-318 with purple button (PIC16 CMT2282F2 micro)

For your awareness, all the stores are showing on their websites the GB-318 with the “green” button which works fine. However, the one with the “purple” button has different electronic inside the device and doesn’t work without external power ( at least not with openers having ~ 9 volts).

No, I do not recommend this product.

A: I bought this for my older Genie garage door, and it didn't work. So I found a Genie dealer in British Columbia and called them. They said I needed to install sensors first. I ended up buying the sensors and door opener from Genie, and the system took time to install but it works well. Sorry I cannot advise about your question!

Q: does this remote control replace the receiver on the opener

A: Yes, this will work with most older models openers where a simple push button wall control is used, it simply closes the contacts to the opener. It is not compatible with Chamberlain/Liftmaster Security+ openers and remotes.

A: Si votre ouvre-garage est plus vieux et fabriqué dans les années 70 et 80, il n'y aura probablement pas assez de puissance parvenant du moteur pour que le bouton puisse ouvrir ou fermer la porte.
