Shark Portable Steam Pocket® Cleaner

The mixed reviews had me concerned. I was considering the larger model but those reviews were mixed as well. I figured start with this... if I'm disappointed I'll return it. When I first fired it up i was reminded of the comment about low steam/pressure. It certainly wasn't a tremendous "blast" (it does get stronger the longer you hold it) That said I was on a major mission to detail my shower (I had removed all the old caulk and wanted to deep clean before re-caulking) so I gave it a shot. I will say I developed an appreciation for the product, especially when it comes to getting into crevices (like the dreaded shower door tracks). My shower is only 5 yrs old so grout wasn't a major issue. This worked for me on the surface soap residue and mild discolouration but I do question how effective it would be on serious and ancient staining. I think this is a great maintenance tool in the arsenal for preventing building up. I am really happy with it now that I adjusted my expectations. I've started using it all over the house, getting behind stove dials.... getting gunk out of window frames... you get the idea. Haven't used the attachments so can't comment on those.

To put it simply it doesn't work. At best it blows warm moist air out of the tip and can't be used to clean anything. My wife and I were very excited to buy it on sale at half price and we had reasonable expectations for it. However when we got home and tried it out after having read all the instructions it just doesn't work. It makes almost no steam at all and honestly anything it can clean can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Im returning this today. I strongly advise against buying it even at half price. At least test it out if you know someone who owns one because I'm sure anyone would be underwhelmed by its performance.

My mom brought me this because i couldnt find any product or cleaning pad that would scrub my shower properly. i used and was amazed it took all the gunk right off and im no longer embsrassed for my friends to use my shower. So glad i found this. you do have to hold the button the whole time but it didnt bother me at all especially with the result i got! BUY ONE!

I found this cumbersome and unuseable. Having to hold the trigger down while trying to use the machine was unbelieveable. Most jobs require the use of two hands to hold things like holding a burner bib in one hand while directing the steam nozzel with other...didn't lift the dirt off the bib at all--or the inside the oven. The other parts for steaming the counters etc. weren't of any use at all. this allowed the steam to escape from the back side while nothing/ verylittle got directed towards what you are trying to clean, defeating the whole purpose.

Another great product from Shark. I mainly use this for cleaning the bathroom (especially the toilet) and the kitchen. It does a great job on my greasy hand tools too. If you use this item with common sense it works great and it makes your cleaning time easier and quicker. I must say I wouldnt have bought it unless it was on sale.
