For almost $200 out the door brass hardware should be included. If you have any chance of freezing water lines open the box and upgrade your hardware before you leave the store, because Canada. Other than that it’s great. I have hard well water and this definitely takes the edge off of it.

Fittings for the faucet just pop out when installed to specifications. Nothing actually holds the tube to the faucet base and the pressure alone pops the pipe right through the compression fitting. Yes I installed it right. No I did not miss anything.

Q: Do I need to install the specific faucet that comes with the system or can I have it connected to the main water tap? I am living in a remote town for a short amount of time and do not want to get charged for drilling into anything by the landlord.

  • A: You could possibly do this if you were to add an in-line shut off valve for your cold water feeding your main faucet and then install a fridge line (needle valve or Pex fitting) to accommodate the 1/4” water line that out puts from the filter. If your not familiar with any of this then I would suggest you ask a plumber.

Q: What are the 2 cartridges for the fuel system?  Codes please

  • A: Rainfresh TWIST Dual System features two high performance activated carbon block cartridges. The first one is model QCA (62-1089) that reduces chloramines and chlorine, taste and odour. The second one is model QLV (62-1088) and it reduces lead, VOC (chemicals, herbicides, insecticides, pesticides and about 50 chemicals), parasitic cyst and chlorine. Both cartridges must be replaced together and they last 250 gal or approx 6 months for an average family.

Q: Does the Dual Undersink model need to have two filter cartridges plugged in it to work or can it work with just one cartridge?

  • A: Hi, the 62-1087 Rainfresh TWIST Dual system features 2-stage filtration. The first filter cartridge removes chloramines, chlorine, taste and odour and the second cartridge removes lead, chemicals, cysts and chlorine. The system features built-in shut off valves which turn off the water to the unit when either of the filter cartridges is removed.
