Protect wood surfaces with Premier Exterior Wood Stain. This natural-coloured semi-transparent wood stain is ideal for use on decks, railings, siding, fences and wood furniture. The UV-protective wood stain is weather-repellant, resists cracking and peeling, and is mould- and mildew-resistant. This exterior wood stain provides good colour retention and tannin blocking, and can be applied in temperatures as low as 5° C.

Just to update my previous entry of how poor the product is - the manufacturer does not respond to email complaints or requests for refunds, even with photographic proof. This is a very expensive mistake and the small savings is not worth it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Lasted five months - terrible product avoid.

I would give this a zero if it was possible. We live inland in NS and used this deck stain Fall of 2025. In less than 5 months its all started to peel and come off with just one winter. I know everyone will say did you follow the instructions - Yes. Did you prep the deck as per the tin - as best we could yes. Its come off of railings and the deck itself. It was a big decision to go with the Redwood - but deeply regret it now as the task to remove is just far too costly. If you have a brand new deck in a perfect weather region it may be ok. The photos were taken just after rain that is why the wood looks damp It became exposed as the product is coming off so much.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Finish product will last under 3 months!

I applied this stain last year to my deck. I followed all instructions on the prep of my deck before application, use of a wood stripper to remove previous finish, wood conditioner before using stain. 2 days of prep then I applied the stain that looked great for about three months when pealing started to happen. All that for 3 months? My deck looks worse now than it ever did after the winter season. Save your money and time, this product is garbage, I wouldn’t use it if they gave it to me for free!

A: hello Mike, Premier Active has two features that makes it superior to Premier. Low temperature application, it can dry in as low as 5c in a 24h period. Compared to 15c for Premier. Colour retention, so Premier Active will keep the colour pigmentation longer than Premier. thanks!

A: Hello bpasquill, Yes, our Premier Tintable Exterior wood stain in the semi-transparent finish can be tinted to a dark walnut colour. We actually have about 30 colours you may choose from. I would advise that you ask the expert at the paint counter to help pick the correct product as you may need a deep base (in store item 048-5905-6) depending on your colour choice. A: Onidas, We cannot say for sure as it depends on the sprayer itself. We recommend checking the sprayer recommendations and instructions for thinning requirements that were received when the item was purchased or rented.

A: They come in 3 premix colours (redwood, walnut and cedar). They come also in +/- 30 colours from the solid stain colours selection. And they can also be tinted with any colours from our Premier Colour Wall. However, with this last option, we cannot guarantee a 100% colour matching.
