Product Details

Permatex Red High Strength 262 Threadlocker is OEM specified. It is an all-purpose high strength threadlocker ideal for fasteners 3/8" to 1" (10mm to 25mm) in size. Designed for securing parts that must withstand heavy shock, vibration or extreme chemical or environmental conditions. Locks and seals while preventing parts from loosening due to vibration. Protects threads from corrosion. Localized heating and hand tools are required to separate parts. Conforms to ASTM D5363 AN0331 (Mil-S-46163A, Type II, Grade O).

Q: Has anyone had an issue with the ingredients separating? Can I remix them? Had a tube on a shelf for a year. The original repair held for a year but just gave up and I went to reapply but it’s a red liquid now.

A: Hello PlaneJane747, thank you for your question on Permatex Red High Strength 262 Threadlocker, 6-mL. For unused Threadlocker that remains in the original bottle/tube, it can be shaken and/or kneaded so that it is thoroughly mixed before applying to threaded metal parts. (Threadlocker should not be mixed with other liquids or transferred to different containers). The original manufactured colour of Permatex Red High Strength 262 Threadlocker is red. Thank you.
