Panacea wood suet feeder

Good suet feeder. I got this on sale for a very good price. Holds two suet cakes so it doesn’t need filing as often and it is very easy to fill. The birds seem to like it just fine.

I'm really happy with this 2 suet cake feeder. It looks good and is made well. Strong. Nice cedar. Strong hangar. The tail prop is nice but is only used by large woodpeckers (eg. piliated) - smaller don't use it.
Downy woodpeckers, blue jays and chickadees are easily using it.
Regarding capacity, it easily takes two regular size suet blocks. Size is large - check measurements for intended location.

Too easy to access for squirrels and raccoons

Put this up in our backyard away from trees and such, but still the raccoons and squirrels easily got into it. Had to use zip ties or else they just slid up the wire part and took out the suet.

One way to resolve this problem is to put a shepherd hook in a clear area - 8 feet away from and structure ( house, shed, etc.) ,
Install a metal squirrel baffle a minimum 4 feet above the ground and you’ll not have squirrels troubling your suet feeder.
