Bought this for my 94 year old mother, to ease her summer. I like the size for cooling one small area. Only complaint: the words on the remote are very small. Some challenging installation adjustments needed to be made for a side hinged window.

Q: Is it annoying to drain and does it fill up often? Does it have a bucket to empty?

  • A: Mine only needed to be emptied once. I then had someone build a little platform for the unit to sit on (just slightly bigger than the base of the air conditioner). Painted white and looks perfect. If ever I need to drain, I just turn the air conditioner unit itself and can drain easily onto a baking sheet or something shallow. The platform is only about 1 1/2” ht and on wheels and then on carpet. Great sol’n.

Q: Just purchased for average size bedroom. Worked great and now get error code E5 to drain, Does this happen to everyone's machine? Do you find yourself draining every few hours..... only 35 deg humidity but pumps water out like crazy on cool mode? HELP

Q: Does this have to be vented through a window?

  • A: All air conditioning units, regardless of make, model or what not need to be vented outside in some sort of way. The unit essentially works by pulling the hot air in and then pushing it outside (obviously it's a bit more techincal then that, but tjhat's ultimately how it works).

  • A: No it does not however you can make it work as i had a sliding door. install it as normal window and you will have to use a piece of plywood to fill the gap and lock the door.worked fine for me.

Q: Does this come with a hose, and it yes, how long is it?

  • A: It did not come with a hose. I set mine on top of a platform with a bin underneath the drain hole so that I wouldn't have to constantly empty it. This way I only have to empty the bucket once a day rather than roll the whole unit to the drain at least twice a day.
