When it works it's great

First one we bought we used (loved it) for about 3 months. Then the clear handle cracked at the top and it quit working. We thought we had mishandled it or done something wrong. We bought or second one. MUCH more careful, we have used this one for 6 months, this morning it cracked same place. We have no idea what is happening. We hand wash and dry. Store carefully away from things that might hit it. We are at a loss. We will not be buying another one.
