It's my first french press coffee maker, but I like the look of it, and it keeps the coffee warm for a good 20 - 30 minutes, which is enough for me. I use it just for myself - it's a good personal size for my couple of cups of coffee in the morning. I like that its not breakable like some of the glass ones, too.

A: Pour faire du café dans une cafetière à piston, il faut verser de l'eau bouillante sur le café placé au fond. Le filtre/piston est Inséré après et poussé vers le bas quand le café est prêt. Ce n'est pas comme une cafetière italienne dans laquelle il faut faire bouillir l'eau pour qu'elle monte sur le café.

A: No, the press body is dual walled and insulated. I would suggest a stove top percolator or a moka pot.

A: Yes and it works great to keep your coffee hot…I use it every morning and I let it sit for at least 15 min and I take it camping

A: J’avoue que je n’y avais pas pensé donc pas essayé. Par contre pour avoir acheté plusieurs modèles en vitre qui ont cassé, celui-ci est idéal et vaut l’investissement.

Q: what is the actual volume of this press? (ounces would be nice!) I know it says 8 cups, but it seems to be same size as my glass one, which is 34 oz - i.e., 4 (and a bit) cups.

A: Hi there, The volume of this french press is 34OZ. The press is measured in small cups, each cup is 125ml, which is how we get 8. This transfer to about 4 regular sized coffee cups. Hope this helps!
