Q: How do the tip configurations work? There is a 'cap' over the point - is this for hard surfaces such as concrete? Are replacement caps available? What about the two different 'baskets'? Under what conditions would I choose one basket over the other?

A: Yes, the rubber cap is for use on hard surfaces. Take off the cap and the tip is for ice. The smaller basket is for sand and soft surfaces. The largest basket is for snow. We currently do not sell replacement tips.
