This expanding spray foam worked well when used in the house. It didn't want to work in cold weather outside. I don't blame it I don't like to work when it's cold either. Happy it stopped the wind from whistling in.

A: Yes, they hollow out nesting chambers in anything they can chew or claw into. Insulation is comfy and provide protection from wind and cold, so makes great nesting sites.

A: It's definitely a great adhesive barrier. But what i would do if you want it to resist water best is use it to fill the gap (as a substrate)(backing ) then coat it with caulk or even better is flex seal.brush on(better) or spray on.

Q: how to clean the dispenser\applicator to reuse at a later time?

A: The dispensing straws are aren’t intended to be cleaned but if you want, uncured foam can be dissolved using Great Stuff Foam Cleaner or acetone. However, the cleaner will not dissolve foam that is cured already.

A: Optimal spraying temp of Great Stuff is 23C or 72/F so the material needs to be warm when sprayed. It can be sprayed in conditions as low as 15C or 60F, more like Spring Conditions.
