if you build bird houses as a hobby this is the tool for you. If you have one keep your receipt. I use it for flooring. Lasted 20 hours of use. Maybe. unfortunately it was in my tool chest 7 or 8 months and now Canadian tire says find receipt. card it was bought on. Jump through hoops. buy princess auto and throw in the garbage before you buy this. gonna join a belt throwing competition and fire this bad boy up. 1st place guaranteed!!

While this sander is designed for lighter to medium-duty applications, it still shouldn’t fail after ~20 hours of use. I can understand how frustrating it is to run into issues with the return process on top of that.

Belt sanders generate a large volume of fine dust very quickly, and depending on the material being sanded, the onboard dust bag can become clogged and restrict airflow. This can sometimes cause dust to build up inside the housing instead of exiting properly.
For optimal performance, we recommend:
Emptying the dust bag frequently during use / Ensuring the dust port is fully secured /
Connecting the tool to a shop vacuum for improved dust extraction

- A: I purchased this sander after my new and expensive Metabo (that cost hundreds more), overheated and failed after an hour of continuous use. I needed a sander in a hurry and didn’t want to break the bank. While not a fan of CT-branded power tools, my local store had it on sale so I thought I would try it out. Surprisingly, the CT-branded unit actually worked better than the much more expensive Metabo. I used it all day with no issues. It barely got warm.
