Beautiful but Remote System Unreliable

I would have given 5 stars except for the faulty parts related to remote and overall experience of installation which wasn't smooth. This isn't my first ceiling fan install but with the remote there are a few more wires which is still quite simple. I installed the first product 3 times and every time the light worked but fam did not. I exchanged for a new one without issue, installed again, same issue. Checked wiring and the included wire nut is not big enough for the 3 white wires, so I used a larger one. Same issue. Also the remote that came with #2 didn't light up when the buttons were pressed, even with another new battery. Phoned Hunter in USA, it took about 80 minutes to speak to a tech who was very helpful but basically said that the receiver wouldn't work because the remote was no good, but couldn't explain why I had the same issue with fan #1. In the end I got him to confirm how to wire it around the receiver and still work like normal with pull chains, and he took my information to send a new remote. It's now a week later and I haven't received his confirmation email for the warranty remote, but happy that the fan is working like normal and looking nice otherwise. It is one of the only ones I have seen that doesn't look like an airplane propeller with a dome light in the middle so works well in our old house

Quality Low Profile Fan at a fair price

Great fan. Runs silently. Remote works. Lights work. It's heavy and not easy to put up but that is probably true of most well made fans. Hunter is a good brand.

Fan good, instructions bad

The fan itself is great! Super quiet, and I love the remote capability.
The instructions were terrible. Make sure you read them all the way through before starting, because it back tracks a couple times. Installing the remote receiver where and when it tells you will block the slot you need open to put the motor housing into. Then it will tell you to attach the safety rope into the socket after you’ve already blocked the entire socket with the fan bracket.

Q: Bought a 42” hunter ceiling fan with remote and bulbs included. I’ve been noticing that the lights dim off then instantly slowly turn back on. This happens every few minutes. Any idea what’s going on ??

Q: Can this fan only be operated by a remote or does it also have chains? Alternatively, can the fan and light be operated independently with two wall switches?

A: This fan does include pull chains as well as the remote. The fan also has the ability to be wired with multiple switches, but a certified electrician would need to be consulted to execute.
