Definitely not a 0.3 Sones bathroom fan.

The existing fan in one of our bathrooms was overly loud so I decided to replace it. It takes a fair bit of effort to replace a ceiling fan. It involves cutting a chunk of drywall out of the ceiling to gain access to both remove the old fan and install the new one, followed by letting in new drywall, taping, mudding, sanding and paint. All overhead, of course. I purchased this unit because it is, as you can see, listed to be a very quiet unit at 0.3 Sones. This, it definitely is not. It might be marginally quieter than the fan I replaced, but not so much of an improvement to have warranted the expense and effort. A disappointment.

The Canadian Tire website lists this fan at .3 sones, but the box says 1 sone. I haven't installed it yet, but not off to a promising start, since the selling feature was that it was so quiet.

Use this fan to replace a 5cfm 5 som. The difference is astronomical its is very quit and moves the air is our bathroom about 40 cbf.
