Must have tool for ssnding walls

I used this tool to sand my 2-car garage and it was amazing for getting through the large walls reasonably fast. Only reason for 4, instead of 5 starts is for a bit of the looseness at the base.

I bought this radial drywall sander for when I rebuild some walls in my home, but I also wanted to try it on patches and to roughen existing painted surfaces to prep them for painting. On the walls, I simply grabbed the collar of the sander in my hand and sanded the walls using an orbital motion - it worked great, and it spanned a greater area than a sanding block would. For the ceilings, I screwed the sander onto a pole and tried to push it back and forth across the surface but the friction between the sandpaper and the paint was too great to move the sander with the pole. Sanding ceilings was easier when using the method used on the walls. Overall I am glad I bought this tool and I look forward to using it to finish new drywall.
