Can't believe such a costly unit works so poorly

Lovely looking but certainly not recommended. The wooden bowl is awkward to add ingredients and to hold securely as you empty the contents. I just made a cake requiring creaming the room temperature butter and sugar, adding egg and other liquids followed by addition of dry ingredients. After mixing and pouring the ingredients into the cake pan there was a heavy layer of butter still on the bottom of the bowl. The agitator did not reach all the butter. That's no good!!!!! And there was no operation manual or recipe booklet included with the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This KitchenAid has the standard high-quality feel and durable finishes I expect in these stand mixers. While I love the look of the wooden bowl, it is more high maintenance than I'd like for regular use. It should be oiled occasionally like a cutting board. It also must be cleaned and dried immediately after use, and some water seeps between the wood and metal bracket at the bottom. I'd love KitchenAid to offer a metal-handle bowl that matches the bronze medallion on the front. Other than that, I love this mixer!

Q: Looking at the pictures of the wear and tear of the walnut bowl what is the warranty on this? I am that person that if it is marked or chipped I cannot use it as I am afraid of not being able to clean properly. Any info would be helpful.

A: Hey, in all honesty would avoid this model, as it is the aesthetically pleasing. The up keep is horrendous. Need to oil bowl as it’s real wood, not dishwasher safe, and the up charge isn’t justified for all that extra work. Better off get they 5qt $380 ones.
