[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start off by saying that this product works well. As a stand mixer it has good power, A lot of variety and speed, which makes it very Customizable when baking different things. So in that aspect, it's really good. My biggest issue was the stand mixer is that is has no way to adjust the height of the paddles or bowl. The paddles (attachments) NEVER reach all the way to the bottom. I've tried the dime test to see how far off it is and the dime does not even move a millimeter. I blow on the dime and it moves but the paddles just float above it. I wish that there was an easy way to adjust the ball height or the paddle height so that the bottom of the bowl would mixed all the ingredients. I always finding myself stopping to dig the bottom out and then restart mixing again. It's nowhere in the manual but online it says you can adjust it by turn the screw in the back of the hinge, but that screw is hard to get to and to turn it just a little bit would take the strength of Hercules.

We appreciate you sharing your detailed experience with the Precision Master 5.5-Quart Stand Mixer and are glad to hear you’re pleased with its power and versatility. The paddle not reaching the very bottom of the bowl is part of the design to help prevent damage to the bowl and attachments—just be sure not to overfill the bowl to allow for more effective mixing coverage. For best results, we recommend pausing to scrape the bowl as needed and ensuring ingredients are added in proper order to improve incorporation; the rear screw adjustment can fine-tune alignment but is not always necessary for optimal performance. Thank you for your feedback—it helps us improve future models.

Love it!

I have only used this a handful of times so far, but in all instances it was for whole wheat sourdough mixing. The dough hook handles the dough very well. I do have to stop the mixer once to scrape down the sides of the bowl, but i think that is typical. I am enjoying starting it up then doing something else in the kitchen while it works. The only reason i gave it 4 stars is that I smell a "hot wire" smell when it's mixing, but I believe that may be just because it is new...but I will monitor that. In all, I think this was a great buy.

This is a replacement for my previous Cuisinart mixer which I’d had for 16 years. Very happy with the improvements made since that time.

Q: Cuisinart says max cap for flour 6 cups. Recipe book with machine says basic white bread - 8 CUPS. How is this possible please??

1 Answer
  • A: I do believe the mixer can handle 10 cups.  It will be advertised as litre capacity in Canada and quart capacity in the US.  All you do is google how many cups in a 5 litre or 5 quart measure whatever size your bowl is.

Q: Will this mixer handle 3.25 cups of water and 3 pounds of flour to make bread and knead it for 3 minutes?

  • A: Hi, The maximum capacity for any Yeast dough made within this unit is 6 cups of flour - which is approximately 1.75lbs. 3lbs of flour (in addition to other ingredients) would be considered over capacity. Thanks
