Stops working after just over 1 year

Bought this Blender 1.5 years ago and it already stopped working (Ninja® Professional Plus Blender DUO® with Auto-iQ® ). Warranty is only 1 year. I guess they don’t make them like they use too. For the price they charge, it should definitely last a lot longer!

Q: Will this blender pulverize tomato skins so I can make tomato sauce? I don’t mind tomato seeds but really hate those curled up bits of tomato skins floating around and would love to not have to peel off the tomato skins before.

Q: Does this blender come with a rubber/silicon ring or is it metal on metal coupling?

A: I have a slightly different model that includes a bowl for food processing (in addition to the blender and smoothie cups). I do not see any silicone/rubber. The gaskets may be hidden but the bases where a gasket would normally be, appear to be made of a sturdy plastic that is permanently seated in the base of the clear plastic blender and food processing bowl. Mine have been through the dishwasher on numerous occasions and no leaking issues. Our old blender had a rubber type gasket that leaked. We replaced it with the Ninja and so far it’s held up well. If possible, I would suggest that you visit a CT store and ask a sales rep to assist you in opening a box, to inspect the product before purchasing it.
