LOCAL TEMPERATURE AT A GLANCE

It’s a good thermometer that’s meant to display the temperature by means of red tinted mercury rising or falling in a sealed glass tube. It’s old school but reliable nonetheless. Attach it in a convenient location and you too can tell the what the temperature is outside at a glance without having to consult a weather app on your cell phone. Besides, the apps generally give you the temperature recorded at the nearest airport in the last hour. Unless you live in the past and live at the airport, the apps aren’t much help telling you what the temperature outside your home is right now.

A: This one has a bucket to mount to a wall or Fram of a window. The other thermometer is flush mount with a slot to hang on a nail on a wall.
