This product was something I was looking for and finally found it at CTC This lid replaces over half of the lids in my cupboard which makes more room and less clutter. The see through lid and vent works great for when you are using it

Works but design flaws make it good not great

It's good not great. If you've tried to find a replacement lid at the charity shops (VV, GW, SA) then you know picking are really slim. This "universal" lid works okay for larger sizes, but it's a bit ridiculous for smaller pots and pans. Since the whole thing is concave and each wider width is a slightly lower level than the last, a lot of levels means it sits really low. And if the pan handle extends from close to the rim, then the lid will be obstructed by it and won't sit flat. The suggestion to reverse the handle so the lid rises to the middle vs sinking into the pan is a good one, but again doesn't give you a seal if the pan handle is close to the rim. In the end this lid is a good idea, but the design decisions make it a bit impractical and a half-fix for many cases. Of the two pans I bought it for, it was a good fit for one and just workable for the other. Check out the silicon covers instead - that's what I'll try next.

The one cover we always used the most was knocked off our cupboard and shattered! We found this cover and wish we had known about it earlier! Works great - less clutter and fewer pot covers needed in our cabinet. It's a great space saver and works very well.

Q: The website description says the item is oven and dishwasher safe, however the item has a plastic handle and the package says not dishwasher safe. Which description is correct?

Q: It is concave. How deep does the center goes inside the pan? Could the handle be put on the other side of the lid to make it convex instead of concave?

  • A: The lid has “steps” in it such that it sits within the diameter of the pot upon which it is placed. This is done to ensure a secure fit. The lid should not be used “upside down” for this reason as the lid would not be secure in its placement on the pot. How deep the lid sits “inside” of the pot/pan depends on the diameter of the pan it is sitting on. The larger the diameter of the pot/pan, the wider “step” of the lid that comes in to play and the deeper the lid sits.
