Q: This can head is different from the old can where you have to puncture the top membrane and lift the pin in order for the refrigerant to flow. This can does not have a membrane but a push mechanism, how do I make it flow?

    • A: I bought one of these cans as I already purchased the kit last year and it will not work with new can!!! Ended up buying a new kit just to get the old puncture top cans. NOT HAPPY but got cold air.

Q: My 2014 Corolla uses 134a & ND-oil8 originally. The AC system now is completely vacuumed. When I am trying to fill Red Tek 12a instead, do I need to add lubricants along as well? If so, which lube? ND-oil 8 or please specify?

    • A: Hi - Usually, the oil stays in the A/C system during recovery process. I also assume that no major components (compressor, condenser, evaporator etc.) were replaced in the A/C system. I would be inclined to add one can of the #0146119 (404) RED TEK OilCharge to be safe if components were replaced. Thanks,

Q: IS FERON R134 COMPATABLE WITH R12A AND CAN IT BE MIXED.

    2 Answers
    • A: Hi there, thank you for your question. The RedTek R12A can be used in R12 or R134a A/C systems, however the system must already be evacuated of R134a or R12, by licensed personnel, before installing an R12a product. It is illegal to blend refrigerants in Canada.

    • A: Oui mais ensuite les garages ne voudront plus travailler sur votre système car les hydrocarbures contenus dans ce produit vont contaminer leur vrai r134a

Q: I've not found any temperature / pressure chart associated with Red Tek 12A. Do you just use 134A charts?

    1 Answer
    • A: Suggest you use the installation hose/gauge and keep the pressure in the Blue zone for peak performance. Also for every 16oz of 134a refrigerant required you only use 6oz of the 12a refrigerant as the 12a molecules are larger.

Q: If I use this to top-up my car's A/C and I wind up using 1-1/2 cans, can I save the other 1/2 can (leaving the hose/gauge attached to the can) or will it leak out fast enough that this isn't worth trying? If I can't save it, what do I do with 1/2 can?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, you can save the ½ can of 12a refrigerant by turning the can tap clockwise back into the top of the can and keeping the can tap/hose and gauge assembly connected to the can. Ensure the hose is tightened firmly to the top of the can.
