Love Dewalt stuff except this item

So I picked this charger up on sale . Normally Dewalt is my absolute go to for tools on the farm . This charger had mixed reviews but it was on sale so I took a chance and out of the box it would not turn on and although it may have just been a loose connection or something I didn’t want to take a chance taking it apart to see as I wouldn’t be able to return it . I still have great faith in Dewalt tools but not this battery charger I will pick another brand

Doesn’t charge completely dead batteries!

Does not charge completely dead batteries. Sometimes went into reconditioning mode but didnt allow a faster charge.
Had to put another battery on the first to give it enough voltage to start to charge. This is not displayed on the box but is written in fine print in the manual.

This unit requires a battery to have at least 2V remaining in it to activate all safety features and properly charge the battery. If the unit is automatically reverting to the reconditioning mode, this is a sign that the battery is not accepting a charge. Please allow the unit to stay in the reconditioning mode for the next 24-48 hours. If a battery is completely depleted, it is recommended to have the battery checked at local automotive store to ensure it is working in proper function. A: This model features reverse polarity protection, which needs to detect 2+ volts from the battery and to properly confirm the correct polarity and battery type. This battery charger will not charge a battery with less than 2+ volts.
