I use this by my computer and for my typing needs. My office has poor lighting and this lamp brings what I need right to the area to help with my eyesight.

I bought this product about two years ago. It started intermittently slightly flicking after a year, enough to be annoying at times. This is possibly because the ballast it uses is magnetic instead of electronic, which newer lamps will tend to have. From what I saw on the manufacturer website, their bulbs provide only about 2% more natural light (CRI) than regular bulbs. In short, this is not worth the premium price you pay. It looks nice and is sturdy, but I'd rather invest less money into newer and better technology.

This lamp takes a LONG time to start - sometimes up to 30 seconds and more. I returned the first one I bought thinking it was defective - but the second one is the same. I will be returning this one too. This lamp is definitely NOT worth the premium price.
