Works as advertised
I have use this unit for several years with no problems. It works as advertised. My only wish is that the plug input from the vehicle had a lead/plug extension or longer shroud. This would protect the plug from getting wet when there is snow on it. All in all a decent product.
Yes, I recommend this product.

It constantly reverts back to"C". One week battery is defiantly weak. Even in doors the battery is zero. You can not trust it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Complicated to program and use

This block heater cord is tough to program and complicated to use. Make sure you keep the instruction sheet handy because you are going to need it every time you go to change anything, and maybe every time use use it even. Nothing about this unit is intuitive.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Noma timer 52 2463-2 from Cdn Tire. Will this timer hold the programmed times in when a power-out occurs, or does it need to be re-programmed?

A: There is a battery backup that will hold
your settings for about 1 week..
Note the operative word about.
This will work fine when new.. but as the battery
gets old.. (This will shorten)
to the point of not at all when dead..
Not sure if you could get a new battery..
But more than likely not worth the effort.

Q: I want the timer to be controlled by temp. only. How do I do this?
2 Answers
A: You cannot set this to operate by temperature only.
You can program this to operate 23h45min per day, so that it will effectively seem to be controlled by temperature only.
Or you can buy a thermocube that does what you are looking for.
