It appears to be in good condition. It is compact and nicely styled. I will not know it's effectiveness until the summer. My neighbour has one and it is quiet and efficient. All the parts and the operating manual were in the box. The container was very sturdy and well thought out for shipping. It was on sale. It fit beautifully, upright, on the floor of my HRV which has seats that fold up. I was able to get it out of the vehicle myself and put it on a cart I purchased at Canadian Tire to bring it into the house.

Almost worse than nothing

1st nightly using this unit. On low it is about as loud as my vacuum cleaner. Seems to run well for 10-15 mins then starts buzzing horribly for 10-15 mins. Do not use in a room you plan to try and sleep in. I hoped this was a defect but based on other reviews I think I’ve been taken. Plan to return ASAP

Doesn't cool

I should have read the reviews before purchasing. The unit barely cools my bedroom which is about 150 square ft. Glad to know it's not just my unit. Very disappointing!

No ma 7,000 BTU Air Conditioner

The good: the unit is nowhere as noisy as some reviewers have said. It works reasonably well.
The bad: getting the hose connected was challenging, maybe because this is my first portable and I really didn't know what I was doing.
The ugly: I bought this to replace a comparably sized window unit, but the No ma struggled to keep up with the heat this July - something it's predecessor managed without difficulty.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: J'ai la mienne installée dans une fenêtre à manivelle. J'ai mis une feuille de plexiglass dans la fenêtre et j'ai fait un trou pour la hose. Ca fonctionne et ma chambre est très confortable la nuit :)

Q: My roommate pulled this out of storage and we plugged it into a living room and it works great but I’m surprised there’s no venting at the back and it doesn’t seem to need venting and it’s keeping the room cool am I missing something?

A: There should definitely be a venting hose, attached at the back of the unit, that you insert in the window to allow the hot air to flow out of the room while it cools.

A: Hi. Mine has two drain spouts. No instructions whatsoever on dealing with the water other than turning off, pulling the plug, and physically draining. With my other air conditioners I have attached a hose to drain outside.

Q: Our windows slide open and leave vertical space instead. Does this product work on vertically open windows? What other pieces do we need to install this on vertically slide windows?

A: Noma Air Conditioners work with any horizontal or vertical sliding window with a clearance of 23 5/8" and 64 1/8.

Q: It's not really clear to me if you're supposed to drain this unit. If so, how do you know when?

A: Noma PAC’s are designed to be 'waterless', and do not require draining under normal usage conditions. Condensed water gets evaporated outside though the exhaust hose. If the environment humidity is extremely high the water container goes full, the machine will display E5 and stop running. After draining the water, the unit will work again

A: The rating you see is currently an ASHRAE rating. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer your other question. These products do not have a corresponding DOE value since they were not developed based on new DOE requirements.
