This MotoMaster Multi-Directional Hydraulic Bottle Jack is a versatile lifting solution for many automotive, residential, industrial and even agricultural jobs. Q: Can this jack be stored on its side / horizontally?

Q: My jack did not come with a manual. How do you release this unit to bring the weight back down
7 years agoA: If you would like an electronic copy of the user manual for this unit, please contact Canadian Tire Customer Service and we can provide one to you. This jack is lowered by removing the handle from the pump and inserting it in to the release valve at the base of the jack unit. Carefully open the Release Valve by slowly turning the handle counter-clockwise. (Do not allow bystanders around the jack or under the load when lowering the jack). After removing jack from under the load, push ram and pump handle sleeve down to reduce exposure to rust and contamination.

Q: Can you let the load down gradually? The jacks that I've seen so far raise then load gradually, and then to lower it you release the screw (or whatever) and it drops suddenly.
5 years agoA: Yes, it is possible to 'feather' the release valve on this MotoMaster Bottle Jack by opening the valve very slowly and lowering the load in a controlled manner. In some cases, this may take a little practice and you might not get it right the first time which is normal. Perhaps try a few times with a smaller test load if you are concerned about potential damage for your application.

Q: Is this product sold without a rubber bleeding plug and empty of oil? Where the plug should be on bottle is only an open hole.
6 years agoA: All MotoMaster Bottle Jacks are sold pre-filled and calibrated from the factory. The plug may have a small cavity in the middle of it and it is possible the filling hole plug was painted over in production, in which case it may look like a hole while it is not. However, if you find the unit is non-operable and missing oil, we would recommend having the unit exchanged. Our apologies for this inconvenience.

Q: What does the red button on the bottom right of the images i included do?
8 years agoA: It is safety valve, and has been adjusted by manufacture to ensure customer can not over pump the jack. So, load can be controlled as not over the jack's capacity. Users are not expected to touch/adjust it.
