1 year on and still love it

Had this fireplace about a year now and i love it.
It initially took my daughter and i about 1 1hrs to put together with no issues. The box it comes in is quite heavy and long( needed mini van to get home).
The fireplace throws out a lot of heat and the remote control is handy( some models do not have). The only negative i can think off is that because the finish on it is high shine and black it shows every speck of dust or hair which can be pain with a household full of pets. Everyone comments on how great it looks and have inspired 2 friends to pick up their fireplaces for Canadian Tire. Oh yeh and if you wait till after Christmas usually always get put 50% off which is an added bonus.

Best design on the market

What I loved most about this piece is the design. As far as I'm concerned its the best design by price and function.
The only small con about this is the BEEP it makes when adjusting any setting. It's the only thing that is loud. The heater is quiet.
Do make the effort and glue.

A: Getting only 4500 BTUs out of 1500 watts sounds expensive to me. Electric heaters are not cost efficient compared to nat gas. The advantage is putting the heat where you need it.

A: Yes, you can deactivate the heater at the push of a button and still use the imitation fire lighting. They are 2 separate functions.

Q: Why does the log light go on and off with my tv remote? when I change the volume on my rogers pvr remote the flame light will sometimes go on and shut off by itself I tried unplugging for over five minutes and still does it

A: the infrared signals from the remote are interfering with the signals for the fireplace. Find the sensor on the fireplace and cover it with some electrical tape.
