Q: Can you use this product on car instrument clusters? Instrument clusters (speedometer area) on cars are made from a very sensitive vinyl that scratches easily even with a dry microfibre cloth. Do you know if this product would helps in covering up light surface scratches to this vinyl cover?
12 years ago- A: There's no reason it shouldn't, though if you're concerned about adding new fine scratches, the next step would be wet sanding with increasingly fine grits which will polish out successively finer scratches. Same process with any plastic really. Products like PlastX and ScratchX are just quicker versions of that (ScratchX being a big coarser than PlastX, so if you have deeper scratches, you'd start with the ScratchX then move onto PlastX).11 months agoHelpful?

3 years ago- A: Yup. There are numerous posts on AudioKarma on the subject with photos of results. If you have deeper scratches, consider starting with ScratchX then move onto PlastX. Put something underneath to support it, as opposed to just supporting it by the sides, as older more brittle dust covers can get micro cracks from applying pressure continuously.11 months agoHelpful?

5 years ago- A: This is not the same as PlastX but it is designed for the same surfaces (clear plastics, headlights, etc.). Yes, it is often used on motorcycle windscreens but you need to make sure the windscreen does not have a UV tint/film on it. Hope that helps. Q: How long before the light covers get cloudy after using it??
6 years ago- A: This does not offer much protection as it is simply a restorer. How long it will take for oxidation to reappear is highly variable depending on the material of your headlights as well the environment it is exposed to. Q: I have scraped the side mirror integrated turn signal against a concrete pillar, would Plastx restore it? It is a very minor scrape.
