Q: Has anyone tried those on bricks or stones? It says "masonry".
2 years agoA: No, these will be destroyed by Bricks, masonry, and glass. They are for ferrous and non ferrous metals. Along with wood and plastic.

Q: I am looking to create a 1.25 inch hole in a stainless steel sink (soap dispenser). I have read that these step drill bits can do the trick, but also a carbide tipped bimetal hole saw. Does anybody have a preference or advice? Thanks
3 years agoA: These will work, the stainless steel used in sinks is pretty soft. I used a standard hole saw and it worked, though the brand was snap-on tools, better quality than usual big box stores. Hole saw makes a messier hole, they tend to wander while drilling.

Q: What thickness of metal can these bits drill through.
2 years agoA: 0540775 includes 5 pcs drill bits: 1pc drill bit with 6 steps, 1pc drill bit with 9 steps, 1pc drill bit with 10 steps, 1pc drill bit with 12 steps and 1pc drill bit with 13 steps. For each step, the thickness of the metal to be drill should not exceed the height of the step.

Q: Wondering who manufactures these step drills?....And is there any further specs?...For example Temo uses M35 cobalt HSS alloy with 5 percent cobalt added to that alloy...Not a surface coat. It appears this is similar?
6 years agoA: Yes, the 0540775 is of real 5% cobalt material (M35) not just surface coating.
