drywall was why I bought it

I didn't see anyone mention tracing electrical boxes. Tracing requires a tracing bit. The end of the bit should be smooth of the three bits included the sprial goes right to the end. I won't be using these bits to trace any electrical boxes. I am going to pick up the rotozip bit for drywall that has the tracing feature at the end. On sale cheaper than the rotozip but if it doesn't come with tracing bit it is close to the same price. I will keep mine for now. Make sure the twist part of the bit isn't in the collet or it will snap the bit...didn't even see it until it was too late.

cet outils est assez durable mais,après plusieurs utilisation, toutes les mèches ont brisées et le mandrin de fixation ne tient plus les mèches en places mais, sinon c'est un outil à conseiller au débutant car, il ne faut pas trop le faire forcer

Not bad for my purposes

I use power tools only occasionally for little projects around the house. I got this multi-tool recently and have been trying all of its functions: spin saw, router, little 1/4"-1/8" drill, angle grinder, rotary tool. Of course it's best to get a dedicated tool for each task and they will perform better, and without the hassle to assemble/disassemble different attachments and carefully store all the little pieces of a multi-tool. I found the router depth quite difficult (but possible) to adjust... The 3-step preset depth guides are a joke, especially because the left and right sides of the plunge router attachment can slide independently not keeping the tool at 90 degree angle to the base.
But overall, as a multi-tool, for a very occasional DIY / light hobby use it's acceptable, it does its job.
The biggest downside is that the motor is really loud, especially at higher RPM, so I had to use hearing protection.

Poor quality

This is my second Spinsaw kit. I bought one 7 years ago that served me very well. My son used it last winter & buggered the flex cable, which I use the most. Mastercraft doesn't supply parts for older tools so anything you buy from them is a throw away product, once it's no longer in production, you're on your own. This replacement unit my son bought for me is junk compared to the old one. It's very loud, to the level I need hearing protection while using it & vibrates terribly. There's no what this unit will last long, I just hope it blows up before the 3 year warranty ends. Don't buy this unless it's on sale.

Best tool I ever bought

This thing is the best, it is five tools in one. It cuts it can router, it can do nice rotary work and it has a good carrying bag. Everything works very well, just read the instruction manual. Buy it you'll love it.

A: Yes with the proper bit you are able to cut through a variety of different materials. The Rotozip brand carries a wide variety of cutting bits.

A: The spinsaw can take both router bits and cutting bits (ie upswept cutting bits 54-4722x of 1/8, 5/32 or ¼” diameter) from the Dremel, rotozip or Mastercraft lines. For router bits we recommend small bits only up to 1 ¼”, either edge guided bits for free hand use or non-guided bits for use with the router base. Capacities and recommendations are all in the owners manual,

Q: What's the minimum and maximum radius that I can cut using the existing circle cutting attachment? I need to cut a 60 mm or 80 mm hole in a desk, and want to make a template (in some fiberboard or light plywood) so that I can rout out a circle in a 1" thick desk (melanine over MDF). Thank you!

A: The smallest radius the attachment can be adjusted to is 100mm and the maximum 520mm. A template can be made with the circle cutting attachment (CCT) to accommodate the 87.5mm radius of the router base plus the radius of whatever size hole required up to its maximum capacity. For 60mm hole the radius of the template would measure 60 + 87.5 = 147.5mm; and 167.5mm for the 80mm.
