I bought mine a few months ago and it's been great. Any tool under 12in with a flat surface sticks securely, polished surfaces will slip off tho. This item has a lot of bad reviews, either they listened to it and improved the product, or it simply has inconsistent manufacturing. I would recommend purchasing in-store so that you can make sure you have a good one.

Do not buy!

I had this and the other style toolbar magnet in the store and took them to the tool aisle. I tested tools on this magnet first and nothing held to it. It was so bad that I initially thought I had grabbed non ferrous tools but as soon as I put them to the other bar magnet they stuck immediately. This one is really poor quality. I put it back and got the other magnetic toolbar.

No, I do not recommend this product.
