Good little gem

Bought this to place over older existing gas fireplace which was no longer efficient. Been using it for two weeks, it's attractive, heat is sufficient while watching tv in evenings or taking the chill off first thing in mornings. I like all the settings using the remote and the price was right. The one negative for me was the length of the cord,
wish it was at least 8' or able to use an extension cord as it has to go around a 1' foot corner.

I like this unit it does heat up the room. I like the temp setting so it turns once heated. Make sure you read directions. Heat omes out the top

I bought this fireplace hoping to add a little ambience to a small room. Three problems:
1. The heat is directed from the top not the front. Not terribly functional for ambient warmth.
2. The unit should only be connected directly to an outlet. Cautions everywhere about not using an extension cord. It would have been more helpful to have this information on the outside of the box to assist in the decision to buy or not.
3. The unit is quite noisy even when not heating.
Returned the unit for these reasons but especially for the extension cord issue.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Functions well. Look is quite fake. Not realistic. Would be nicer if the heat blew out the front instead of the top. But all in all for the price I am happy with the unit.

A: This operated with and with out heat. You can have the flame on and keep the heat off.

Q: Does the temp and settings always show on the front, as displayed in both pictures? The pictures both have the temperature setting and heat/fan settings in the top right corner of the fireplace glass. Are those always showing, or is that just in the pictures?

A: Those settings will not always show. When a function is changed from the control panel or remote there will be a corresponding indicator displayed. The indicator shows the function changed and the level selected. The corresponding indicator will fade off after 10 seconds or when the function is turned off.

A: BRIGHTNESS - Brightness is adjustable from the remote control only. FLAME MODE - There are five different flame effects: Snow White Rubine Ocean Provence Party Note - In Party mode the unit will cycle automatically between all flame effects, periodically FLAME SPEED - The flame speed is adjustable from the remote control only...........Flame speed range setting: 1 is the slowest and 5 is the fastest.
