Way to Small

I bought this tank before I know that Bettas should be kept in a filtered tank of five gallons or more and treated like any other freshwater tank fish. Not sure why this tank would ever be sold. Do not use this for a Betta, they will not live very long if you do! I returned the tank and bought a 5 gallon tank.

Too Small

In the picture it looks okay but in reality this is far too small for a Betta. Betta fish need at least 2 gallons and this one is only 1/2 a gallon.

Not Worth It

It's very cute but not practical, nor humane for the fish. I don't mean to come across as the fish police and bash people for housing their bettas in 1/2 gallon tanks. This size isn't suitable for fish for myriad reasons. That said, this particular 1/2 gallon is especially bad. No cover; and it is very flimsy. As attractive as the design is, it can and will fall apart. The frame detached from the tank while I was carrying it to the sink. Back to the size--I had a tiny female in this contraption and it seemed small for her. I can't even imagine putting a male betta in this.

Perfect size and my betta fish "Panda" is happy and has alrady made a bubble nest. It looked really small and I was a bit leary but so far this item has worked quite well and my fish seems very happy. :) I bought a little silk plant for him to hide by/sleep on. It looks great!

Do Not Buy!

i received a beautiful betta with this bowl as a housewarming gift. he is a devil dragon half-moon, and very expensive. My grandma and i did not know any better at the time, so i thought this 1/2 gal would be fine for 1 fish. I was dead wrong, the horrid water quality alone almost killed him, not to mention he was going stir crazy with no where to swim. I got rid of it right quick and upgraded to a 1.5 gal with a filter. Drake is much happier now, but he is still healing from the ordeal.
