Silicone gives off unacceptable odour

Sorry, wanted to leave a positive review for these straws, but the “old tire rubber” smell was soooo strong and off-putting, we couldn’t use them. Even after washing and soaking in dishwashing detergent, the smell was overwhelming.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good straws

I really like these straws. I use them to drink smoothies that have the consistency of milkshakes. I keep a couple in the car to use when I get cold drinks at a drive-through. They are easy to clean because you can squeeze them between your fingers and, roll them back and forth under running water to get out any stickiness. I put them in the dishwasher too.

Q: Are these wide enough to drink a thick smoothie? The details say it's 11.33 cm wide but that's obviously wrong.

A: The diameter of the straw opening is 9.6mm and yes, could be used for smoothies.
