Excellent remote. Why is good stuff discontinued?

My Father's apartment has a switch that is in a difficult to access location. I replaced the switch with the receiver, and put the remote where an intelligent person would have put the wired switch. It worked really well. Unfortunately, it has lived its life, and now I find the device is discontinued. Too Bad.

Hums like a poorly made dimmer switch

This product is not a straight on/off switch. It is a dimmer switch disguised as an on/off switch. They engineered a nice fade-in/fade-out effect when the lights are turned on or off and the remote works great, however the hum that comes from the lights when they are on is reminiscent of a cheaply made dimmer switch. If this were just a simple on/off switch it would have 5 stars from me. Sadly, I'll be returning the one I just bought as the hum is unbearable.

Bought this to use for our detached garage outdoor pot lights. The other reviewer misunderstood as it says turn a single pole light into a 3 way without adding wires. It states clearly for a single pole. Glad he had stated that the wireless switch was much larger than a regular switch so I was prepared. Works great.

This is not 3-Way

Despite what the site says, this switch does not support 3-way. And the package doesn't tell you so either. So if you have two light switches on the circuit and you're hoping to add this remote switch, disregard this product. Also, the remote switch is quite thick. It will stick out quite a lot if you put it next to a standard light switch. The remote takes 2 AAA batteries.
