High quality steel. Because of the shape, it's easy to scoop and move potatoes around inside a pot in order to then mash thoroughly. I would definitely purchase this item again.

I like that this masher is not plastic, and it therefore feels much more durable even when I have to push down on it pretty hard. Easy to clean, looks nice hanging in my kitchen.
