Q: these speakers need additional amplifier ?

  • A: They are efficient to work directly with aftermarket radios such as JVC and/or factory radios. When replacing speakers, ensure your speakers are 4 ohm ... as some factory systems (such as "infinity"/"bose") type systems use seperate amplifiers from factory radios and are 2ohm. To know if you have such a system, it would be noted right no the door panel area where you speakers...which may require additional re-wiring / parts and or new factory radio. Please consult with a local radio install ship always. A sepearte aftermarket amp (JVC) will definately bring the wow factor out of these!
